In this chapter, we explain how to use the restriction management functionality in Atomize.
Where to find Restrictions in Atomize
If you are on Mews PMS, you will find the restriction management functionality in the tab called Restrictions in the topbar.
Start by selecting a bookable service
The first time you enter the Restrictions page, you need to select which bookable service in the Mews system you want to apply and view restrictions for. We suggest that you configure the default Mews service in the Restrictions setting page (which is linked to in the view below and also available in the settings dropdown menu). The selected bookable service will then be displayed by default when you continue using the service. You can however always change bookable service in the dropdown to the right above the white card.
Supported Restriction types
The following restriction types are supported in Atomize:
- Min LOS arrival: The minimum number of nights guests must stay if this date is the requested arrival date.
- Min LOS through: The minimum number of nights guests must stay if any part of the reservation touches this date.
- Max LOS arrival: The maximum number of nights guests can stay if this date is the requested arrival date.
- Max LOS through: The maximum number of nights guests can stay if any part of the reservation touches this date.
- Closed to stay: Reservations are not allowed for this date.
- Closed to arrive: Reservations are not allowed to arrive on this date. It is however possible to reserve stay dates that exceed this date.
- Closed to depart: Reservations are not allowed if this date is the requested departure date.
- Min advance booking: The minimum number of days a reservation must be booked in advance before the arrival date.
- Max advance booking: The maximum number of days a reservation can be booked in advance before the arrival date.
- Minimum price: Reservations are not allowed for this date if the booking rate is lower than the minimum price.
- Maximum price: Reservations are not allowed for this date if the maximum price of the booking is exceeded.
View, edit, and remove restrictions
The Restrictions page will show you a list of all existing restrictions for your property. Since the total number of restrictions tend to be many, you can find a filter in the top of the list which allows you to filter out restrictions based on a number of parameters such as time period, restriction type, and restriction level. You can also select whether you would like to include restrictions that are persistent (i.e. does not have an end date) or restrictions that are unsupported by Atomize (typically a combination of several restrictions baked into one).
To edit a restriction, click on the blue icon to the right. A new window will open and you are able to edit the restriction as you prefer.
Note! If you edit a restriction with a start date that has passed (i.e. a persistent “Min advance booking” restriction), the start date will be changed to the current day’s date if no other input is given.
You can remove a restriction by clicking on the “trash can” icon or by selecting one or several checkboxes and pressing the “Remove restrictions” button which appears in the top right corner.
Please note that by editing or removing a restriction in Atomize, the changes are reflected in Mews instantly.
Add new restriction
To add a new restriction, press the blue “+ Add new restriction” button in the top right corner, and a new window will open up. The following parameters can or must be filled in:
- Start by selecting the time period you want the restriction to be applied to, and if you want the restriction to have an end date.
Note! If you do not input any values in the “Start date” and “End date” field, the restriction will be applied to start from the current day’s date until forever (i.e. it will be persistent). - Select whether you want the restriction to apply to all days of the week or just certain days.
- Select Restriction type, and input the associated field if any (number of nights, or Min/Max price). All supported restriction types can be found here >
- Select which inventory and or rate code or rate group the restriction should be applied to. If these fields are left blank, the restriction will apply to the full house.
To save the restriction, click “Save”.
Please keep in mind if you have configured merged room types in Atomize, the restrictions will be applied to your actual room types and not the merged ones.
